Vertical Datum Transformations Across The Australian Littoral Zone

Aims: 

The fundamental aim of this project was to facilitate the creation of seamless elevation datasets across the Australian littoral zone by developing a method which enabled the transformation of ellipsoid height/depth related data to other vertical datums of user interest (and vice versa). Given this aim, and in the context of previous work, this lead to the two primary objectives outlined below:

Stage 1 - Ensure that ellipsoid-based LiDAR data can be consistently and accurately produced in Australia.

A model framework for assessing risk and adaptation to climate change on Australian coasts and estuaries

Aims: 

Our project aims to develop a modelling framework to integrate geomorphological, engineering and economic approaches to ensure consistency of impact projections using methods best suited at different time scales (years, decades, centuries) for assessing risk for the Australian coast. The project will also develop a framework within which to assess the vulnerability of different estuaries, and the varying shorelines within them, to sea-level rise.
